Characteristics of the unified e-visa and conditions for its issuance

Russian e-visa applications must be submitted no earlier than 86 days and no later than 4 days before the travel date.

1. Only citizens of foreign countries approved by the Government of the Russian Federation are eligible for the unified e-visa.
2. Entry and exit are allowed only through approved border crossing points.
3. An invitation, hotel booking or other proof of travel purpose is not required.
4. The e-visa covers private/business visits, tourism, and scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic and sporting events.
5. Freedom of movement across the Russian Federation, except specially restricted areas.
6. Single entry. Valid for 120 days from issuance; stay up to 30 days (arrival and departure days both count).
7. Extension only in exceptional cases (emergency treatment, force majeure, natural disasters).
8. If you already hold a valid Russian visa, you do not need a unified e-visa.
9. Submit the application no earlier than 86 and no later than 4 days before the intended entry date.
10. A processing fee is charged and is non-refundable. Children under 6 are fee-exempt.
11. The service, provided by MFA GLOBAL CONSULTANCY LLC, covers document collection, review, information verification, and application handling on the customer’s behalf. Once the service has started, the service fee is not refunded, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights.
12. Applications are processed within no more than 4 calendar days.
13. Full date of birth (day/month/year) is mandatory.
14. Passport must be machine-readable, issued by your country of nationality, and valid for at least 6 months from the application date.
15. A separate e-visa is required for each minor child listed in the passport.
16. Incorrect information may lead to visa revocation at the border or in-country.
17. Medical insurance valid in Russia for the entire stay is required (reciprocity exceptions apply).
18. An e-visa may be refused as provided by law.

What you need to apply

Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the application date.

• Machine-readable national passport
• Passport valid at least 6 months from application date, with space for stamps
• Full date of birth in the passport
• Digital face photo (JPEG), 35x45 ratio, plain light background, taken within 6 months
• Photo of the passport biodata page (JPEG)
• Medical insurance covering the entire stay in Russia
• International bank card for the fee (non-refundable)
• Invitation or hotel booking is NOT required
